About Lambasingi

Lambasingi Hills is often referred as “Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh” or South India. This is the only place in Southern India, where you can experience snowfall sometimes in winter. Even in seasons other than winter, sunlight falls only after 10 AM in the morning and its cold. It is not actually snow fall but dew which gets frozen due to temperature hovering near freezing point. This has happened once in past and has since become a legend about this place.

Lambasingi which can now be called as a hill station is situated at about 100 km from Vishakhapatnam and perched at an height of 1000 meters / 3280 feet above sea level. The local people are engaged in the pepper and coffee plantations. The cool wind which blows from the forests and valleys of Chintapalli area makes the Lambasingi Hillock cool and foggy. Temperatures during winters remain between 0 and 10 degree Celsius. Some years temperature goes below 0° Celcius in winters, December and January being the coldest months of the year.

APTDC plans to open a state-run resort here and develop Lambasingi as a tourism hub. Lately, this place has seen an increase in the number of tourists.

Lambasingi is about 600 Kms from Hyderabad, 135 Kms from Kakinada, 320 Kms from Vijayawada and 780 Kms from Chennai. If you are coming by train then Chintapalle is the nearest railway station at about 20 km. But for practical purposes, Kakinada or Vizag are better rail head options.
Narsipatnam is the nearest biggest town and has better stay options. There are no hotels or resorts in Lambasingi itself, few very basic home stays have opened recently. You can arrange a DIY camping trip to Lambasingi.
